VHP says Ram temple to be built at site next year

Hardwar, Nov 28 (UNI) VHP supremo Ashok Singhal said the Ram temple will be built on the 'Garbh Grih' (sanctum sanctorum) in Ayodhya next year.

Addressing mediapersons at Roorkee last evening, he said the VHP would organise a massive 'sant sammelan', which will be attended by nearly three lakh Hindus and Buddhists from all over the world, from February 11 to 13 next year during the Maha Kumbh to be held at Allahabad.

"The religious leaders of the Hindus and the Buddhists will take unanimous decision from one platform and pledge their support to the cause of the building of Ram temple," Mr Singhal said.

All preparations had been made for the construction of Lord Ram temple. "The stones have been chiselled for the construction of the temple which will be built according to Vaishnav traditions of architecture", he added.

He alleged the Congress&some sants, like Shankracharya Swarupanand Saraswati were trying to divide the sants of the country. He also 'warned' Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh not to indulge in anti-Hindu activities. Mr Singhal said in Banaras Hindu University, which was set up by Pt Madan Mohan Malviya to protect Hindu cultural traditions, the teachers were being coerced into severing their ties from Hindu organisations.

"A big movement would be launched in the country against this attitude of the Centre," he added.
