UP MLC dies after prolonged illness

Lucknow, Nov 28 (UNI) Three-time member of Uttar Pradesh legislative council Shyam Narain Singh died here today.

He was 62 and suffering from liver malfunction for the past two years.

He passed away at his official residence here this afternoon.

His last rites will be performed in Ballia tomorrow.

Mr Singh was sent to the upper house from the Varanasi division under the teachers' quota.

Several senior leaders, including Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav have expressed sorrow at his demise.
