Two dacoits held in Aurangabad
Aurangabad, Nov 28 (UNI) The police with the help of local residents today arrested two of the five-member armed dacoits from Dashmeshnagar here after a minor scuffle.
City Police Commissioner Uddhav Kamble told newsmen that five dacoits entered the compound of a bungalow situated in Jaynagar. One of the residents informed the Osmanpura police about the same. By the time the police reached the area, the dacoits had left for Dashmeshnagar, where they were nabbed by them after a brief chase.
When the dacoits began pelting stones at them, the police had to open fire in the air early this morning.
He said they managed to apprehend two of the dacoits, while the remaining three escaped from the spot. They have also seized a knife from Ajay alias Dinesh (26) and Sunil Pimple (28).
Since the police team foiled the robbery attempt, no valuables were stolen.
However, three persons, including a police constable, sustained minor injuries in the incident, he said, adding that they suspect that the dacoits belonged to Madhya Pradesh.
