Sonia's self criticism will not reduce common man's burden: BJP
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today dismissed the concerns expressed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi on petroleum prices, saying such 'self criticisms' without follow up action will not be of any help to the common man.
Asked about Ms Gandhi speaking about the government charging higher prices for petrol and diesel compared to lower prices prevailing in the international market, BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said such statements have been made by Ms Gandhi in the past and have not proved beneficial to address the concerns of the common man who has been made to pay through his nose.
"Ms Gandhi is blaming whom? She has to blame herself", Prof Malhotra remarked pointing out that the prices of essential commodities had gone up by 33 to 40 per cent after she expressed concerns. ''Does her concerns have any meaning?'' he asked.
