'Skats' perform breathtaking aerobatics in Patna
Patna, Nov 28 (UNI) The Suryakiran Aerobatics Team(SKAT) performed breathtaking ballet and made brilliant formations in the sky as part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Indian Air Force(IAF).
Wing Commander S S P Rao said the world class 'SKAT' team performed for the first time here aimed at generating awareness among the youth and to inspire them to opt for IAF as a career.
Altogether nine planes went up to a height of two kms, made loops and turned to make the customary salute to guests present on the occasion.
The SKAT team made different formations, including delta turn, rear turn, rear entry loop, arrow change, level crossing, viggen turn among others.
The pilots displayed their skills yesterday too at the airforce station in Bihta in Patna district.
The team had also participated in Bangalore-Aero-India international shows in 1996, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. The SKAT had also displayed their skill at Colombo in Sri Lanka in March 2001 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sri Lankan Air Force.
It had showcased its skill in over 530 displays across the country.
