Singapore Airlines adds additional flight from Bangalore
Bangalore, Nov 28 (UNI) Cashing in on the growing aviation sector in India, Singapore Airlines today launched an additional flight from the city to Singapore, taking a total number of flights to six and is looking forward to enhance the bilateral agreement to further enhance its presence.
Operating 48 flights a week, Singapore airlines ferries around 15,000 passengers from eight destinations in the country apart from its subsidiary Silk Air operating daily flights to Kochi and four flights to Thiruvananthapuram.
The demand is much more and there is room for everybody, Mr Foo Chai Woo, General Manager of the Airline in India told newsmen here announcing the launch of sixth flight from the city. Stating that the Metros share the major chunk of the traffic, the Airline would be keen to double daily flights from Chennai and Delhi besides connecting Bangalore daily.
The increase in capacity from Bangalore mean the Airline would have 1816 seats besides offering more connection options to several cities in the Carrier's global network. ''Karnataka is fast becoming a key market for us and we are bullish on our operations here'' he said adding that the Airline had seen a significant growth in passenger traffic over the last couple of years from the region.
