Shot put player Jagat Singh honoured

Chandigarh, Nov 28 (UNI) Haryana Police has honoured international player Jagat Singh, an Assistant Sub Inspector, for winning a silver medal in the shot put event of the 14th Asia Masters Athletic Championship held at Bangalore recently.

He was also honoured with a cash prize of Rs 2000 and a commendation certificate for his success at Gurgaon, a police spokesman said.

He said players from 14 countries participated in the Bangalore event. The players would now be selected to represent Asia in the forthcoming World Masters Athletic Championship-2007, which would be held in Italy.
