Rupee opens lower by three paise at 44.68/70 against per USD

Mumbai, Nov 28: The rupee today opened lower by three paise and was quoted at Rs 44.68/70 against per US dollar as compared to its previous close of Rs 44.65/66 per USD, on fresh buying support of the dollar by foreign and nationalised bankers, dealers said.

Later, the domestic currency rose at 44.64/66 during the mid-morning session, on account of short-covering by local dealers.

It is now trading lower by eight paise at Rs 44.73/74 per USD from its previous close, due to increased buying of the dollar by foreign and local banks, traders said.
