Railways' revenue up 17.74 per cent in November
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Sustaining its north-bound revenues, the Railways earned Rs. 1730.77 crore during November 11-20 as compared to Rs. 1471.27 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 17.64 per cent.
The freight earnings went up from Rs. 978.20 crore to Rs. 1179.85 crore during the period, showing an increase of 20.61 per cent.
The total passenger revenue earnings shot to Rs. 492.78 crore compared to Rs. 447.40 crore during the same period last year, an increase of 10.14 per cent.
The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 42.20 crore during this period compared to Rs. 31.34 crore during the same period last year, an increase of 34.65 per cent.
The total sundry earnings rose from Rs. 14.33 crore to Rs. 15.94 crore, showing an increase of 11.24 per cent.
The total approximate number of passengers booked during November 11-20 this year were 180.65 million as compared to 172.32 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 4.83 per cent.
In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the number of passengers booked were 103.87 million and 76.78 million compared to 99.19 million and 73.13 million during the same period last year, registering an increase of 4.72 per cent and 4.99 per cent respectively.
