Railway cop commits suicide

Palakkad, Nov 28 (UNI) A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable attached to the Palakkad Junction allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in front of the cash counter, today.

The deceased was identified as R Palanivel (52) hailing from Erode in Tamil Nadu.

Police said a suicide letter recovered from him stated that he took the extreme step as he was under treatment for chikungunya for the last few days.

Palanivel, who was on duty shot himself with his .303 service revolver, sources added.

Police registered a case and investigation was on.
