Punjabi Univ win inter varsity rowing championship

Patiala, Nov 28 (UNI) Punjabi University, Patiala, emerged champions in the All India Inter-varsity Rowing Championship in the women's section, orgainsed by West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, from November 20 to 24.

The feat by the Punjabi University rowers ended Kerala's domination in the event.

In the women's section, Punjabi University's Harpreet Kaur and Amandeep Kaur won the Double Scull event. The team of Kirandeep Kau, Kiranpal Kaur, Shashi and Jyoti Bala won the gold in the coxed-four event.

The university's Harpreet Kaur was placed second in the Single Scull, according to information received here.

In the men's section, Punjabi University won first place in Single Scull, second place in Double Scull and third place in Cox and Pair.
