Political leaders and Chappell should be at a distance: Mamata

Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee today said Team India coach Greg Chappell and political parties have not done the right thing commenting on each other.

''This is not the right thing and we should distance politics from the playing arena,'' Ms Banerjee told newspersons here.

She also said both should not be mixed up.

After India's defeat at Cape Town, Mr Chappell had reportedly said he was not surprised by MPs' criticism (about the team's performance) as they were paid to do so.

Meanwhile, angry city youths burnt the effigy of the coach at various places and demanded his immediate sacking ''to save'' Indian cricket.
