Nitin Gadkari slams Pawar for suicides by farmers
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today criticised Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar for saying that suicides by farmers were on the decline.
Mr Gadkari said Mr Pawar should make concerted efforts to make the farmers debt-free.
''Not farmers' suicides but the cricket score is reducing,'' said Mr Gadkari referring to the Indian team's performance in South Africa.
Mr Gadkari in a release said according to government figures, 542 farmers from six districts of Vidarbha had committed suicides, while the real figure is 612 till November 20.
