NCP releases white paper on failures of Nitish government
Patna, Nov 28 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party general secretary Tariq Anwar today released a white paper listing the ''failures'' of the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar and announced that his party would soon launch a statewide agitation on the issue.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Anwar said the NDA had promised to check crimes within three months after assuming power. But reports of crimes still continued to pour in from all parts of the state, he pointed out.
'' Even if crime figures released by the state police are to be believed, the law and order situation in the state continues to be a matter of concern,'' he said, adding 2483 murders, 150 kidnappings and 787 rapes during January-September this year were an open testimony of the ground realities.
Castigating the Nitish government for its claim of accelerating the pace of development in Bihar, Mr Anwar said the state government could utilise only 14 per cent of the allocated funds so far and expressed doubts over the efficiency of the government in spending total funds till the end of the current financial year.
The NCP leader alleged that infrastructure in the state continued to be in a poor shape despite the tall claims of the Nitish government. ''Nothing has been done to improve the roads, electricitiy, health and education so far and the people of the state continue to face hardships'' he stated.
