Yamunanagar, Nov 28 (UNI) Residents and relatives in Sanjay Dutt's native village of Mandauli in this district today heaved a sigh of relief over the star's aqcuittal in the TADA case and prayed for his well being in future.
Som Dutt and Parneeta, paternal uncle and aunt of actor Sanjay Dutt expressed happiness that the Bombay High Court today acquitted him in TADA-related cases.
Speaking to UNI here, Som Dutt said, ''We are happy that the stigma of being a terrorist on Sanjay has been washed away by today's court verdict and almost everyone in the village has prayed for Sanju Baba today.'' Regarding his conviction under the arms act, he said,''We accept the court's verdict. However, we all hope that as Sanju Baba has already spent time behind bars and gone through personal crisis apart from the trauma over this issue, the court will take everything into account while announcing the punishment.'' ''His father Sunil Dutt and mother Nargis's patriotism is beyond doubt and he is no less a patriot. He has been through a lot in the past and deserves a lenient treatment now,'' stressed his aunt with an emotion-choked voice.
