MP Govt claims many achievements to its credit

New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) As Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan completes one year in office and the BJP Government its three years in power in the state, the State Government today claimed it has successfully met the challenges in key areas of development besides taking care of every section of the society.

"The Chief Minister's able and dynamic leadership and his commitment towards giving the people an impartial, transparent and responsive administration has resulted in a year of rapid progress for the state,'' a state government statement said here today.

The statement, issued by the Madhya Pradesh Information Centre, stated that in the three years it had been in office, the present state government had many achievements to its credit.

''Three years back the government's coffer were empty. There was an acute shortage of water and power and roads were in a dilapidated condition. Due to poor infrastructure, industrial group were avoiding the state for investment and factories were closing down,'' it said.

The steps initiated three years back for the progress and welfare of the people have gathered pace under the ''able leadership'' of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The official release went on to list other achievements of the government. These include no overdraft for three years now, surplus budget presented for the first time in the history of MP, first time budget of profit presented this year, first state in the country to implement cyber treasury system and the top place in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana.

''The development initiatives of the government in the last three years especially for women and scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and the relief from every day problems, the poor availability of power and water have definitely improved the living conditions of the people of the state.'' There is hope that Madhya Pradesh would lead the nation in the pace of economic development and progress, the release said.
