Mirwaiz Hurriyat creating confusion by talking to India: UJC

Srinagar, Nov 28 (UNI) The Muzaffarabad-based United Jehad Council (UJC), a conglomerate of several militant groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir, today accused the Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, of creating confusion by holding talks with India.

''They (moderate Hurriyat leaders) by holding talks with India have served no purpose. Instead, they are creating confusion,'' UJC chairman Syed Salahuddin told the local media here in an interview from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

He said the Kashmir issue was not being discussed at all in the talks between New Delhi and the moderate Hurriyat leaders.

''All the three parties to the dispute -- India, Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir -- are not involved in the dialogue process. Still the Hurriyat Conference (moderate faction) is cleverly trying to describe the dialogue as a genuine process,'' said Salahuddin who als heads the Hizbul Mujahideen.

He also suggested two meeting points for both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference - one led by the Mirwaiz and the other by firebrand leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

''Leaders from both the Hurriyat factions should agree upon that no solution within the ambit of the Indian constitution would be acceptable to them. Also, there should be no justification for presence of Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir...Rest of the issues among them can be sorted out later,'' Salahuddin said.
