Mankind pharma to set up unit in HP
Shimla, Nov 28 (UNI) A New Delhi-based pharmaceutical company has decided to set up a manufacturing facility at Poanta Sahib in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, industry sources today said.
Mankind Pharmaceutical's manufacturing facility would be set up in a 12 acre plot in the district with an estimated investment of Rs 30 crore.
The sources said it had been designed as per the United States Food Drug Administration (USFDA) standards and would have a production capacity of six crore ampoules and three crore vials per year.
Since the whole process would be automated, there would be no human intervention at the production stage and would be made operational by late next month, the sources said.
The Mankind pharma company, which started operations with Rs 3.7 crore in 1995-96, has clocked a turnover of Rs 370 crore in 2005-06, and was targeting Rs 550 crore turnover during this financial year.
