Lawyers in lower courts strike work demanding common calander

Jaipur, Nov 28 (UNI) The functioning of the subordinate courts in Rajasthan have been disrupted as the lawyers are observing a token strike in demand of a common calendar of holidays for high court and lower courts.

The lawyers, on a call from their respective district bar associations, including Jaipur are on strike while the Bar Council of Rajasthan did not participate in the strike.

Jaipur Bar Association President, Virendra Godika said the lawyers are observing a total bandh in the pink city with the lawyers of the judicial, administrative and revenue courts joining in the strike.

He said while the Rajasthan High Court has discriminated against the lawyers by announcing different calendars for the High Court and subordinate courts.
