Kerala role model for peace and harmony : Ravi Shankar

Kochi, Nov 28 (UNI) Reiterating the importance of peace in the trouble-torn world, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, the pioneer of Art of Living concept, today said Kerala was a role model for peace and harmony.

Addressing a gathering at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the launch of Art of Living here, he said the state was known for culture, beauty and harmony, and was a role model for others.

He said everyone should consider life as a celebration which would result in peace and prosperity in the society.

''One should be happy and spread happiness by breaking the walls built around one's self. Everyone should be part of a global family and should be useful to others,'' he said.

He said with belief in humanity and working for the mankind, knowledge would flourish in the society, resulting in moulding a tranquil society.

Speaking at the function, Kerala Governor R L Bhatia said the concept has helped to create a bondage for humanity and universal compassion.

The Governor noted that humanity was virtually on the right path towards building a 'one world family'.

The highlight of the celebrations was a Mohiniyattam performance by 1,000 dancers.
