J'khand govt to shelter all primitive tribal groups in state

Ranchi, Nov 28 (UNI) In a decision to shelter primitive tribal groups in Jharkhand, the state government today decided to take loan of Rs 48 crore from HUDCO to make houses for them.

The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Madhu Koda, this evening decided on the matter, Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swarup said.

An estimated 1.95 lakh people from primitive tribal groups are in the state, Mr Swarup said ading most of them were concentrated in Santhal Pragana mainly.

Besides, the Cabinet decided on compensation to the personnel engaged in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in case of death or injury caused to them on duty.

Earlier, the government used to insure such personnel on deputaion but with today's decision the kin of the person, who dies while on polling duty would receive a compensation of Rs ten lakh.

The person, who becomes totally disabled, would also receive Rs ten lakh.

Regarding the death to CRPF personnel on election duty, the state government would give Rs 2.5 lakh to each of the victim's family as the Central government also gives them compensation in such cases.
