Jewel shop owner, lover commit suicide

Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, Nov 28 (UNI) Police recovered the body of a 30-year-old jewel shop owner and his paramour from a jungle near here today.

The two had allegedly committed suicide by consuming a pesticide.

Police said the already married jewel shop owner P Shanmugham (30) was in love with the girl Chitra (20). As their affair came to light, Shanmugham's wife opposed their affair. But he was adamant about going ahead with the affair and marrying her.

However, as the wife's opposition grew stronger, the lovers decided to end their life.

Shanmugham took Chitra to the jungle and both consumed the pesticide.
