IOC President to reach Doha on Thursday

Doha, Nov 28 (UNI) International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge heads a delegation of leading sports officials to the 15th Asian Games, which is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow.

The IOC Executive Board has combined its first visit to the West Asia since 1967 for one of its meetings with a trip to Qatar ahead of the Asian Games.

Executive Board members have already arrived in Kuwait ahead of the meetings which started yesterday with the Executive Council of the Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and continued with the Olympic Solidarity Commission.

Further meetings will continue over the next two days, with reports from commissions and directors as well as extensive presentations updating the progress of forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing, Vancouver and London.
