I am sorry for Sanjay Dutt's family : Mamata

Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today alleged that the TADA Act was still existant in certain clauses and said she was ''sorry'' for Sanjay Dutt's family, though reserving comments on the conviction of the Bollywood superstar in connection with an arms case.

''Personally I feel sorry for the family...I respected late Sunil Dutt. But I will not comment on the TADA court judgment because the law took its own course,'' she told reporters.

However, Ms Banerjee alleged that though TADA Act was repealed few of its clauses remained leading trials of the pending cases to continue.

''TADA was being misused and we fought against that. Though it was later scrapped, the Act in reality remained in certain clauses,'' she said.
