Grenade lobbed at police station on ULFA 'protest day'
Guwahati, Nov 28 (UNI) Suspected ULFA militants hurled a grenade on the Rangapara police station in Sonitpur district of Asom this evening.
Preliminary reports said the attack occurred at about 1845 hrs.
Damage to the boundary wall of the station has been confirmed, but there were no reports of casualties till now.
Security had been tightened across the state today as the ULFA observed ''protest day'' as the Indian Army had first launched its operation against the insurgent group on this day way back in 1990.
The first anti-ULFA operation by the Army was code named 'Operation Bajrang'.
