Girl abduction; CPM demands action

Puducherry, Nov 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu state council member of the CPI(M) T Murugan and former Puducherry secretary today urged the senior superintendent of police Chaya Sharma to take action in a case relating to abduction and alleged rape of a girl.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that the Thirubhuvanai police failed to register a case on a complaint from a 15 year-old girl that she was abducted and raped by a youth.

The girl from Thirubhuvanaipalayam, who went to a nearby shop was abducted in a car by a youth from Pallineeliyoor and allegedly raped her, the CPM leader said.

He said the Thirubhuvanai police did not register a case against the youth despite the parents of the girl lodging a complaint.
