Furore in Orissa Assembly over MLA LAD fund scam

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28 (UNI) The Orissa Assembly today witnessed furore forcing Speaker Maheswar Mohanty to adjourn the House for four times over the misappropriation of MLA LAD fund by BJP MLA Baidhar Mallick The Opposition trooped into the well and shouted slogan demanding expulsion of the ruling BJP MLA from the rest of the session of the House or withdrawal of his MLA LAD fund.

Congress member L B Mohapatra, who raised the issue during the zero hour, produced am audio CD to prove his allegation against the BJP MLA and later handed over the CD to the Speaker for examination.

As the noisy scene prevailed inside the well, Speaker Maheswar Mohanty adjourned the House for 30 minutes at 1143 hours. The House was then adjourned thrice to till lunch at 1500 hours.

The business of the House after the question hour was stalled as the Opposition occupied the well raising the misappropriation of MLA LAD fund by Mr Mallick and demanding a ruling from the Chair.

The matter, however, subsided when the House assembled after the lunch and the Speaker announced that a Special House Committee would be constituted to examine the Opposition allegation against the BJP MLA.
