Ex-CM's plea to Lalu
Visakhapatnam, Nov 28 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Vizag MP N Janardhana Reddy today appealed to Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to shelve the proposal to extend the Visakhapatnam-Bangalore-Visakhapatnam Prasanti Express to Bhubaneswar during a meeting with him at New Delhi.
Mr Reddy claimed the people of North Coastal Andhra were agitated at the proposal.
He said the daily train from Howrah to Yeshwantpur, which passed through Bhubaneswar, was faster and more convenient for the travellers.
In a separate memorandum, he appealed for appropriate allocation for East Coast Railway's Waltair Division for providing necessary infrastructure support to the development of the North Coastal Region.
