Cong and SP members clash over assault on Cong workers in UP
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Proceedings in the Lok Sabha were briefly disrupted today following a clash between members of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party over the issue of beating up of Congress workers in Uttar Pradesh.
As soon as the House assembled, ruling Congress members were on their feet, demanding a discussion on the manhandling of their party workers in UP.
This evoked a strong reaction from the SP members, who also rose and asserted that it was a State subject.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, however, refused to allow them to speak on the issue during the question hour but assured them time during the zero hour.
