BSF seize arms,ammunition from Indo-Bangla border

Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) BSF jawans recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a truck at Petrapole near the Indo-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district today and booked two people under the Arms Act.

Senior BSF officials here said following a tip off, personnel, belonging to the South Bengal Frontier, waylaid a loaded truck near Petrapole border checkpost,about 70 km from here and recovered arms and ammunition, including 20 revolvers and as many double barrel guns, besides a few hundred rounds of live cartridges which were tucked under a huge pile of truck tyres.

The truck driver and his helper were taken into custody and a case under the Arms Act had been lodged against them, they added.
