BJP ''chargesheets'' previous BSP, SP, Cong govts
Lucknow, Nov 28 (UNI) Assuming an aggressive approach ahead of the 2007 Uttar Pradesh assembly poll, the BJP today released a 35-page booklet highlighting the ''failures'' of the previous BSP, SP and Congress governments on all the fronts.
Releasing the booklet, described as 'chargesheet' on other parties, state party president Keshri Nath Tripathi said the purpose was to drive home the point that the BJP was the best bet for the welfare of the people in UP.
The booklet contains systematic description of incidents, which have taken heavy toll on the state's resources in terms of money, manpower and development.
These include acts of various governments towards Muslim appeasement, riots, failure of law and order, corruption and other women and children related issues, which according to BJP were never addressed properly.
It has also detailed properties acquired by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav through various means.
Mr Tripathi said the recent state urban local bodies poll had shown that the BJP was still the most favoured party in UP.
The BJP would formally launch its assembly election campaign after the party's National Executive slated from December 22 to 24 here.
He also chose the occasion to point out several irregularities in the process of revision of electoral rolls in the state.
''The UP government should adhere to foolproof system to revising the roll as well as preparing and distributing the voter cards in a proper manner, which unfortunately is not being done,'' he added.
