Ash takes home silken Banarasi charm !

Varanasi, Nov 28 (UNI) Will the prospective marital union of hazel-eyed Aishwarya Rai and dashing Abhishek Bachchan be garnished with the signature silken charm of Banaras, famous for its silk sarees ? A retail show room here has claimed that as many as 11 signature Banarasi silk sarees worth Rs 50,000 were purchased from the shop yesterday, presumably for Ash by someone accompanying the Bachchans and the former Miss World.

''The 11 Banarasi Jamawar, Banarasi Katan and Khaddi Gorgette sarees costing between Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,500 each were in the shades of Ferozi, Rani and Golden, which are generally worn during marriages,'' Director of 'Jalans' Vishnu Jalan told UNI here this evening.

He further added that the person buying the sarees confided that the silk sareer were meant for Aishwarya, but did not disclose whether they were purchased by Ash or were meant to be gifted to her.

While rumours about Ash and Abhishek exchanging rings at the Sankatmochan temple or their wedding date being fixed for February next by pundits of Kashi are yet to die down, this silken angle to the newsmaking visit has forced commoners here to beliere that there is something more than the 'private pujan' of the star parivar.
