AIMUF demands compensation for Akshardham victims
Kolkata, Nov 28(UNI) The All India Minority Forum today welcomed the Centre's decision to give compensation to Gujarat riot victims and demanded that the government show similar gesture to the families of those killed in the Akshardham temple massacre.
Forum President Idris Ali said at a meeting on communal amity that the UPA government should take measures for early disbursal of the compensation of Rs seven lakh each to the families of Gujarat riot victims.
" The Akshardham incident is painful and the families of the victims should also be adequately compensated," he said.
Holding Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the violence in the state, Mr Ali demanded that he(Modi) should be tried and punished. He said the Forum would show black flag to Mr Modi whenever he visited Kolkata.
The speakers at the meeting alleged that crores of rupees of Haji Mohsin Fund in the state had been misappropriated and demanded that the West Bengal Government recover all such illegally transferred property, including those of Wakf.
