ACC approves key appointments

New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Mr P K Mishra will be the new Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation.

A 1972 batch IAS officer from Gujarat cadre, he succeeds Radha Singh who retires tomorrow.

Mr Mishra is at present Special Secretary in the National Disaster Management Authority under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr H S Brahma, Joint Secretary in charge of Border Management in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has been elevated as Additional Secretary and put in charge of National Disaster Management Authority.

He is a 1975 batch IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh cadre.

The other key appointments cleared by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet included : Mr Jagdish Pal Singh, (IAS Rajasthan 1972), will be the new Secretary in the Department of Disinvestment under the Finance Ministry. He is at present Special Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Consequently, Dr Sanjiv Misra, (IAS GujaratJ:1972), Secretary, Department of Expenditure (Ministry of Finance) will stand relieved of the additional charge and the post of Special Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment will revert to its original level of Additional Secretary.

Mr Subas Chandra Pani, (IAS Orissa:1972), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Department of Rural Development (Ministry of Rural Development) vice Ms Renuka Viswanathan.

Ms Renuka Viswanathan,(IAS Karnataka:1971) presently Secretary, Department of Rural Development (Ministry of Rural Development) as Secretary (Coordination&Public Grievances), Cabinet Secretariat.

Mr P K Mishra, (IAS Uttar Pradesh :1972), Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to be assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Official Language (Ministry of Home Affairs) in the vacancy of Shri Devdas Chhotray.

Mr Atul K Gupta (IAS UP cadre 1974 batch) will be advisor, Inter state council in MHA.
