500 gm of brown sugar seized; three arrested

Bangalore, Nov 28 (UNI) The city police seized 500 gm of brown sugar, worth over Rs 50 lakhs in the international market, and arrested three persons, including Mumbai and Indore residents, here today.

The city crime branch personnel raided a hotel on a tip-off and arrested three persons and seized the contraband from them.

Police sources said the arrested were identified as Mohammed Sharief (50) from Belgaum, Firoz (57) from Mumbai and Devendra Sony (36) from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The arrested were allegedly involved in the sale of banned drugs.

The police also found a Pakistani visa from Firoz, who was suspected to have connections with terrorist organisations, the sources added.
