300 players to take part in Fide chess tourney

Kozhikode, Nov 28 (UNI) As many as 300 players, including internationals P K Kongavel, R Balasubramanyam from Tamil Nadu, N Natarajan and Pritam Singh (Railways) would be seen in action in the Calicut Chess Academy Fide Rated Open Chess Tournament beginning here on December 2.

Players, who confirmed participation in the six-day event, included budding talents from all other states, Calicut Chess Academy director K R Madhusoodhanan and Chief Organiser O T Anil Kumar told a press conference here today.

Mr Pranav Yadav would be the chief arbitror of the tournament, which offers a prize money of Rs 1,11,111, they said.
