Two dead, 33 injured in Doda accident: Azad condoles

Jammu, Nov 27 (UNI) Two passengers were killed and 33 others injured when the driver of a minibus in which they were travelling lost its control and fell into a gorge on Bhaderwah road near Doda town in Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.

The minibus was carrying people from Bhalla to Doda when it rolled into the gorge at Pul-Doda this morning, killing Imtayaz Ahmed and Afatab Ahmed, both residents of nearby Panj Grain area, the sources added.

Six people, who had received serious injuries in the accident, were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, while the rest were admitted to the District Hospital Doda.

Driver of the minibus was also injured in the accident, the police said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound grief over the loss of human lives in the accident.

Mr Azad conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
