Three new Judges appointed in HP High Court
Shimla, Nov 27 (UNI) Three new Judges to the Himachal Pradesh High Court were today sworn in here, taking the total strength to six as against the sanctioned nine, an official spokesman said.
State High Court Chief Justice V K Gupta administered the oath of office to Justices V K Ahuja, Surinder Singh Thakur and Advocate Dev Darshan Sood at a simple but impressive ceremony here.
Court's Registrar General Justice Aruna Kapoor read out the President's warrant on their appointment on the occasion.
The number of the Judges in the High Court has now gone up to six, while three vacancies are yet to be filled up.
The spokesman said Justice Surjit Singh, Chief Secretary S S Parmar, DGP Ashwani Kumar, Lokayukta Thakur Bhawani Singh, President Consumer Forum Justice Arun Kapoor besides several other senior state government officials were also present on the occasion.
