Texas Instruments to demo high definition video conf

Bangalore, Nov 27: Some of the latest technologies of semiconductor major Texas Instruments, including a high definition video conferencing syustem based on TI Silicon, would be demonstrated at the two-day 9th Texas Instruments Developers Conference, to be held here from November 30.

Talking to newspersons here, company India Marketing and Sales Director Arun Jain said high definition video conferencing was an emerging technology that would help global organisations meet their collaboration objectives.

Hybrid Set Top Boxes with huge market potential would also be demonstrated at the event. Another major attraction would be the world's first thought controlled 'bionic arm'.

The conference had an apt theme of ''see the future, create your own'', appealing to the entire semiconductor ecosystem to help create a future driven by analog and signal processing technologies.

Mr Jain said that with the exponential growth of digital electronics in India, analog was going to take the lead. The Indian electronic equipment consumption level would grow to US Dollar 363 billion by 2015 with the total market for semiconductors expected to be at 36 billion Dollars by the same period.

Texas Instrument's analog products represent about 40 per cent of its semiconductor revenue, he said, adding that India's total available market for analog would be 425 million Dollars by 2010 with a compounded annual growth rate of 27.4 per cent.

Speaking about the conference, TI India Managing Director Bobby Mitra said it would help enable the rapid transformation of ideas and innovation into ready-to-use systems and solutions. TIDC would include a demonstration of new applications across emerging high growth industries ranging from industrial applications, communications, digital entertainment, medical electronics and automotives.

Mr Jain said TI India was positioned to play a major role in the exponential growth likely to be witnessed in industrial, consumer and wireless market in India.
