TDP members create brief disruption in LS procedings
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were briefly disrupted when the TDP's M Jagannath remained adamant on raising an issue mentioned in a speech by Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes in Hyderabad recently.
The TDP wanted the Minister to make the same statement in House, he said.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, however, refused to grant him permission to speak on the issue but assured him time during the zero hour. But as Dr Jagannath refused to budge from his stand, the Speaker threatened to name him and cited Rule 374, upon Dr Jagannath sat down.
Later, Dr Jagannath, along with his two other colleagues, entered the well of the house waving a newspaper which featured Mr Fernandes' statement.
However, all the three went back to their seats after members of the JD(U) and others in the opposition benches persuaded them to do so.
Earlier, the Lok Sabha today gave a warm welcome to a 12-member Moroccan Parliamentary delegation, led by the President of the House of Representatives Abdelwahad Radi, during the Question Hour.
The Speaker welcomed the delegates on behalf of all the members.
