Tata Power Q2 PAT up 81 pc
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Tata Power Company Ltd today posted a 80.99 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 202.32 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, in comparion to Rs 126.67 crore during the corresponding period last year.
The company's net sales also grew 18.81 per cent at Rs 1,200.83 crore in comparison to Rs 1,055.11 crore during the same quarter last year.
The sales volume during the quarter showed increase by 6.11 per cent at 3,645 MUs, while units sold in the Mumbai license area showed increase by 4.21 per cent.
''The company is now in the implementation phase of several new projects. The 250 mega watt (MW) coal-based plant and 100 MW DG sets for Mumbai are progressing well and work has commenced on 120 MW met coke project in Haldia, 100 MW wind power plants in Maharashtra and 1000 MW Maithon project,'' company's Managing Director Prasad Menon said.
These projects on completion will lead to a steep change in the company's size of operations and will reflect in better operating results in due coures, he added.
