Supply officer arrested while accepting bribe

Patna, Nov 27 (UNI) State vigilance sleuths today arrested assistant supply officer of Banka, Sushil Marandi, when he was accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from an owner of a public distribution shop.

Additional Director General of state vigilance bureau Neelmani said Mr Marandi had demanded the money from Mr J P Bharti for renewal of license of the public distribution shop located in Bali under Dhoraiya police station area of Banka district.

The officer was caught red-handed when he was receiving the cash at his residence in Bausi.

The arrested officer was being brought here for interrogation, he added.
