SP members force RS adjournment till 1400 hrs
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the third time today despite the Centre giving an assurance that there is no move to impose President's rule in Uttar Pradesh.
Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said during zero hour that the government has not taken any measures to facilitate President's rule in the politically-sensitive state.
However, Samajwadi Party leaders, led by Mr Shahid Siddiqui, started shouting slogans against the government and stormed into the well of the House. They demanded a categorical statement to be put forth on the issue.
Even after the minister's statement, they were not satisfied. The House was adjourned till 1400 hrs for the third time.
Earlier also, as soon as the House assembled for the day at 1100 hrs, SP members were on their feet, protesting against the reported move by the Centre.
