Second Garib Rath to run on Delhi-Patna section

Kapurthala, Nov 27 (UNI) The second Garib Rath train will soon run on Delhi-Patna section as the Rail Coach Factory (RCF) today rolled out the second rake of 17 coaches for the Garib Rath train.

This was disclosed here today by RCF Chief Public Relations officer B M Agarwal.

He said that the time schedule for running the Garib Rath train on Delhi-Patna section would be decided by the Railway Ministry adding that the factory has handed over the coaches to Railways for its operation.

Mr Agarwal said two more rakes of 17 coaches would be rolled out of the factory by the end of March next year.

He said the factory would also roll out 10 coaches tomorrow for export to Senegal and Mali, the South African countries. The factory had earned a foreign exchange of over 20 crore from the export of 30 coaches to these countries, the factory had received an order of 70 coaches for export to these countries and the remaining 40 coaches would be turned out by the end of June next year, he added.

He disclosed that the factory would manufacture 1238 coaches during this financial year.

It is pertinent to mention here that coaches for Garib Rath presently running on Amritsar-Saharsa route had been manufactured by RCF in a record period of three months to fulfill the dream of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to provide low cost air-conditioned services to poor rail passengers.
