Sydney, Nov 27 (UNI) Ricky Ponting deciding against imposing the follow-on on England in the first Ashes Test may have been logic defying to former captains like Ian Chappell and Steve Waugh but it ended up earning Cricket Australia an additional one million dollar.

According to a report in 'The Australian', Ponting's decision to bat again, despite having a first-innings lead of 450 runs made CA richer by one million and they could have earned a million more had England managed to hold on a little bit longer on the fifth and final day today.

The Australians won the Ashes opener by a massive 277 runs but the victorious cricketers will not have any share in the additional earnings, which will be distributed among the state cricket associations.
