Police arrests 2 for bringing children to industrial units

Surat, Nov 27 (UNI) Two persons were arrested by Pandesara police in connection with employment of children in some industrial units in Pandesara and Gopipura areas in the city.

The arrested were Zulfikr Fazalur Rahman and Kaniyalal Ramakrishan, police said.

Zulfikr was arrested for bringing children from Bihar to Surat, offering better payment. Kaniyalal was also involved in bringing children to industrial units, police added.

Meanwhile, Labour Department had rescued 14 more children from an industrial unit in Sachin area, on November 25, sources said.

Police is also investigating whether any inter-state gang is involved in bringing children from other states, sources added.
