Itanagar, Nov 27 (UNI) All the three political parties in Arunachal Pradesh have started their campaign for the December four Roing bypoll.

While the Congress was trying hard to retain the seat, the Opposition BJP also had left no stone unturned.

According to sources, BJP candidate Taje Menjo was on a neck to neck contest with the Independent candidate Laeta Umbrey and Dature Miuli of the Congress.

'' The BJP had been able to win the mass support as it centered around the mismanagement and corruption of the ruling Congress government of Chief Minister Gegong Apang,'' party's general secretary Tai Tagak claimed.

'' The party had exposed the misdeeds of the state government before the people, which included multi-crore public distribution system (PDS) scam and state owned cooperative apex bank fiasco, besides illegal appointments in various departments,'' Tagak said.

He further said BJP MPs Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao would join the poll campaign from November 30, while Opposition leader Kameng Dolo along with party president Tapen Siga were expected to arrive at Roing on November 29.

Mr Tagak alleged that the Congress tried to lure the voters adding that this time their trick was not going to work any more.

Altogether 12,299 voters including 6564 males would exercise their franchise in 37 polling boots across the constituency.

Election to the constituency was necessitied following resignation of the sitting MLA Mukut Mithi after being appointed as Puducherry Lt Governor recently.
