No inspection at Mullaperiyar Dam: Vice Admiral

Kochi, Nov 27: Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Admiral Jagjit Singh Bedi today said naval experts had not carried out any inspection at the Mullaperiyar Dam.

Addressing mediapersons here Vice Admiral Bedi said the team was only mobilised to inspect the dam after a request from Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.

The Navy agreed for the inspection subject to approval from the Ministry of Defence. But it was denied.
