Naxal killed in encounter in AP

Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 27 (UNI) A naxal belonging to CPI (Maoist) party was killed in an encounter with police today near Kurnavali forest area at Charta mandal in this district on the border with Chhattisgarh.

Police said the naxals, who were having a clandestine meeting in the forest opened fire on a police party.

In retaliation, the police opened fire at the naxals.

One Maoist dalam member was killed in the shoot-out.

One .303 rifle, single barrel gun and 25 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot.

The slain naxal was yet to be identified, police added.
