Move to bring more TV channles under DTH

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The matter regarding bringing more TV channels under free Direct to Home (DTH)service of Doordarshan has been referred to a departmental committee of Prasar Bharati for consideration, the Lok Sabha was told today.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting P R Dasmunsi said in a written answer that the Prasar Bhaati had held a meeting with the TV channels on April 24 this year for bringing more channels under the DTH Service of Doordarshan.However ,no meeting had been held at the Government level.

The TV channels showed enthusiasm to come on the DTH platform of Doordarshan. However, they indicated objections on paying the carriage fee of Rs one crore per annum.
